A t the 21st Annual Turn 2 Foundation Dinner, ESPN Sports Reporter Holly Rowe led a discussion featuring The Players’ Tribune founding publisher Derek Jeter and NFL athlete and founder of the Still Strong Foundation Devon Still. The athletes spoke about life off the field, discussing fatherhood and whether having daughters has changed their opinion of what females are capable of, specifically in sports.
The Turn 2 Foundation was created by Derek in his 1996 rookie year to help prevent drug and alcohol abuse amongst today’s youth. Since its launch, the Turn 2 Foundation has awarded over $23 million in grants to create and support programs and activities that motivate young people to turn away from drugs and alcohol and “Turn 2” healthy lifestyles. Its signature Jeter’s Leaders initiative is a four-year leadership development program that fosters academic achievement, positive behavior and social change among high school students in New York City and West Michigan.
