In Essence

From the Garden State to the Garden, Essence Carson’s grit and ever-cool have anchored the New York Liberty since she was drafted No. 7 overall in 2008. Carson, a New Jersey-native and Rutgers alum, has seen the team through many incarnations. Hers is a presence that’s felt, if rarely heard — a quiet storm of passion and purpose that shapes and shifts with each new chapter.
