A Blue Jay Takes Over Photo Day

Ah, photo day … that spring training tradition when we get our official pictures taken for trading cards, newspapers and media guides. It’s an annual rite of passage. But I gotta be honest, it’s also usually super boring. Not this year, though. Everything about photo day at Jays camp changed this year when The Players’ Tribune asked me to flip the script and take over as our official photographer. We kept it extremely loose, and I gave guys the freedom to really be themselves. All the shots you see below were taken by me — except any that you don’t really like. Those were taken by some other guy.
