Steve Nash's Soccer Showdown

t’s becoming a summer tradition.

An urban soccer cage in New York City. A handful of NBA legends. Some of soccer’s greatest current and former players. A foundation benefitting children.

All of those things came together this week for the Steve Nash Foundation Showdown, an annual soccer match in NYC’s Lower East Side that lures capacity crowds and supports Nash’s foundation’s goal to support children affected by poverty, illness, abuse or neglect.

This year’s roster included the Miami Heat’s Luol Deng, Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero, NBA Hall of Famer Chris Mullin, Stoke City’s Geoff Cameron, the Cleveland Cavaliers’ Matthew Dellavedova, Italian national team’s Giuseppe Rossi, and many more.

The Players’ Tribune was on the scene on a beautiful summer night for fútbol. Check out the photo gallery and learn more about the Steve Nash Foundation here.
