Making History

Taylor Baucom/The Players' Tribune

History has been made for Jamaica’s women’s national team, who qualified for the World Cup for the first time ever. The Reggae Girlz saw a dramatic win over Panama during the third place match at the CONCACAF Women’s Championships in Texas, which ended in a penalty shoot out.

The Players’ Tribune was alongside the women during the championships and takes you inside the week, which as player Konya Plummer put, will, “Change Jamaica.”

They now join the United States and Canada from CONCACAF and become the first Caribbean team to play in the tournament.

Next stop, France.
