First Step

Welcome to First Step, a video series featuring athletes engaging the communities most affected by today’s social issues, from healthcare access and gender equality, to childhood obesity and mental health. Former NBA all-star Jerry Stackhouse travels around the country and meets with athletes to discuss issues that are important to them.

In this episode, Stackhouse speaks with New York Giants Wide Receiver Brandon Marshall on his plans to use his platform to overcome cultural stigmas around mental health. Marshall discusses how his own mental illness diagnosis inspired him to create Project 375, an organization he runs with his wife to provide support for those suffering from mental illness to get the help they need.
