Gallery: 'Pitcher' Perfect

Photography is therapy to me. We play so much baseball and we’re under so much pressure all the time. I’m thinking always about last night’s game or the next night’s game. So when I’m taking photographs alone and there’s nobody else in the stadium, that solitude is a nice relief from the rest of the hours in my day. I love the idea of photographing stadiums the way we the players get to see them: empty and undisturbed. And at the same time, it allows me to remember and appreciate exactly how lucky I am to be where I am.
